Benefits:

• A flexible package decoupling movement from marketing and payment.
• This allows the grower to market his grain on fundamentals rather than on storage or financial limitations.
• Covers a wide variety of commodities - Wheat / Barley / OSR.

Cost:

• The cost of the storage varies on the differentials between the harvest and forward markets when the deal is struck.
• The cost is based on a pence per day per tonne charge which covers handling storage and weight loss with a minimum storage term until the end of November.
• A rate is set in pence per tonne per day to run until the end of November as a minimum storage term.
• If the grower continues to store until the end of February a lower rate is paid and finally a lower rate again after the end of February.
• All storage deals must be closed out by the end of June for that crop year.
• The charge covers all handing storage and wieghtloss.
