Gleadell has launched an updated website that is fully optimised for mobile and tablet devices, ensuring customers can access information quickly and simply from anywhere with internet access.
The new website, which went live today (14 March), has a fresh, uncluttered appearance with streamlined menus to maximise ease of use.
The home page at www.gleadell.co.uk features a clickable split screen containing the current website’s most visited pages – market reports, futures prices and local weather. A scrolling upper screen displays latest products and offers of key interest to farmers and growers.
Strategically sited buttons at the top of the home page feature drop-down menus, ensuring even the most detailed information is only a couple of clicks away.
Clicking on the products button reveals a range of Gleadell offerings including grain, seed, fertiliser and bioenergy, as well as marketing solutions such as pools and storage schemes. Users can also access Gleadell Xtra to obtain instant access to personal account information.
Communications pulls together a library of news and events, grouped into sections to ensure growers can find everything from the latest market activity to company news and product details.
Futures prices provides near real-time information on LIFFE, MATIF and CBOT markets as well as a range of currency exchange rates.
Company background, office and port details can also be accessed from the home page, as can a range of important documents such as grain and oilseed contracts, grain passports, environmental statements and fertiliser codes.
“Everything is clearly signposted on the site to minimise search time, whether users are sitting at the farm computer or making the most of a few spare minutes on their smartphone,” says Alice Smithson, Gleadell’s PR and marketing co-ordinator.
“With over 7,000 new visits per week and 180,000 more visits year on year we wanted to create a new user-friendly site that is optimised for use across all platforms.
“We think we’ve succeeded and we hope our customers enjoy the new website. However, there is always room for improvement so we’d welcome any feedback to help us make the site even better.”

The new website is the second online initiative from Gleadell in recent weeks, following the successful launch of its online seed store.
The small seed website includes over 60 different game cover, greening and environmental crops as well as grasses and forage. Purchasing takes just a few clicks and orders will be delivered promptly, normally within 48 hours.
The website contains a brief description of each product on offer and a crop selector table providing information such as pack size, crop purpose (cover, feed or nectar), utilisation period and crop duration, as well as agronomy notes on seed dates and rates and fertiliser requirements.
