Feed Grain
Gleadell
Agriculture is the UK’s leading exporting company to destinations
within the EU and worldwide. Access to international markets is
facilitated by our shareholders and Gleadell are able to load vessels
up to 30,000t through our modern dedicated export facility at the
port of Immingham. Smaller ships (up to 6,000t capacity) are loaded
in Grimsby, Kings Lynn, Boston and Lowestoft. Of equal importance
to the success of the company is domestic trade. Gleadell is a major
supplier to many feed compounders and other processors of feed grain
within the UK. Long term trading relationships with domestic consumers
ensures access to all markets within the UK.
Grain Marketing
Recent years have shown increased volatility in
world commodity markets and Gleadell believe this will continue.
Gleadell offer farmers a variety of totally transparent marketing
schemes to assist farmers in managing their price risk in the years
ahead. These include: buyback contracts for malting barley,
milling wheat, oats, pulses and industrial oilseed rape;
Gleadell Protect (the first three-year minimum-maximum
price, feed wheat contract); Guaranteed Minimum Price contracts
(GMP), Option contracts, “Cash and Carry” contracts
and the Gleadell Grain Pool.
Whole Farm Marketing
The
model for Whole Farm Marketing has developed from a number of large
farms wanting to work in partnership with Gleadell to maximise gross
output while concentrating their efforts more into production.
The number of farmers using Whole Farm Marketing
has increased as more see the benefit of working in partnership
with the UK's largest independant grain merchant.
One of the main benefits is that all contracts
come from one merchant and all movements, payments, samples and
farmers store positions can be monitored on Gleadell
Xtra.
