  A highly popular catch crop, Stubble Turnips can provide large amounts of feed, 12-14 weeks after sowing. The crop can be easily utilised by grazing in situ and can be sown in late spring or early autumn. Main Turnips are slower growing and later maturing than Stubble Turnips and can be either grazed in situ or lifted and stored for later use. For more info please click image.

 

Kale   Fodder Beet
Kale can provided and ideal feed in the autumn or winter. It can be either grazed in situ or be cut and fed to stock in the sheds.

 

Kale is widely used for shooting cover and is either sown on it’s own or with a feeding plant such as Quinoa.
 
  Fodder Beet can produce large crops with high dry matter and high energy values. It can be grown on most well drained soils throughout the UK It is especially suited to producing high quality animal feed in areas where forage maize is unsuitable. Once established, fodder beet tends to be more drought tolerant than Swedes or Turnips.

Fodder Rape   Catch Crop Mixtures

Fodder Rape is quick growing and can be sown in June or July for utilisation from September through to December.
