Gleadell Agriculture has launched a dedicated web site (www.null-lox.co.uk) for Null-Lox malting barley, the spring malting barley developed by Carlsberg and Heineken Research with the staling enzyme LOX bred out to produce fresher-tasting beer for longer and with better head retention.
“The site has all that malting barley growers interested in Null-Lox and current commercial growers need,” says Chris Guest, seed manager at Gleadell Agriculture. “We have given comprehensive information including facts about the project, the extensive choice of contracts available, details of current and future varieties, trials results, testimonials and agronomy guides.
"The independent trials results have proved the benefits of Null-Lox to growers with trials in Wiltshire, Lincolnshire and East Anglia. There are also extensive variety trials in all the main EU malting countries. The results from all these trials are backed up by the testimonials on the web site from growers, maltsters and brewers.
“We will also use the web site to keep all involved with Null-Lox up-to-date with latest developments. For example, the current agronomy guide will be updated with new developments as they happen.
“And there is plenty happening with the Null-Lox story now and in the long-term - the Carlsberg and Heineken research teams are working hard at producing new traits which will have agronomic, processing and taste benefits for growers, and all parts of the supply chain, for many years to come,” adds Chris.
