Parentage: Falstaff x Shannon
Key Benefits
- Very high yielding feed wheat that combines good standing, robust
disease resistance and high specific weight
- Four years commercial experience on farms emphasises its consistently
high yields and quality performance
- Gladiator gives high yields and performs well as either a first
or second wheat
Yield
Gladiator delivers consistently high yields across the UK regions,
over years and across soil types, drilling dates and rotations.

Agronomy
Gladiator may be drilled from mid-September to a latest safe sowing
date of mid-February. However, optimal performance will come from
crops sown in mid-September to late October.
Gladiator performs well as a first or second wheat. The graph below
demonstrates feed wheat performance. Varieties on or above the line
perform consistently as a 2nd wheat. Those below the line are less
consistent as a 2nd wheat.
Gladiator is a fast developing variety with good tillering capacity,
which matures at the same time as Claire.
Gladiator has excellent all-round disease resistance and short stiff
straw.
