Gatsby has excellent resistance to all the major foliar diseases with no weaknesses. It is one of only three varieties on the HGCA Recommended List to have a '7' for Septoria tritici resistance .

Gatsby has proven genetic resistance to Wheat Orange Blossom Midge and was added to the 2006 HGCA Recommended List with a specific recommendation for this character.

LATEST SAFE SOWING DATE

Gatsby has the attributes required for early sowing: stiff straw, very good Septoria resistance and slow primordia development. It is currently being evaluated in trials to produce more information on its performance in early sown situations.

The latest safe sowing date for Gatsby is the end of January.
