Gleadell

EARLY START TO EXPORT SEASON FOR MERCHANT

The first ship of the season left Immingham docks on Monday 14th August, with a cargo of wheat sold to feed compounders in northern Spain.

The Mamry 2 had 15,781 tonnes of feed wheat sourced from growers in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and West Lincolnshire.

As with the harvest, it is an early start to the shipping season for Gleadell, with the first ship of this size having left the UK on their behalf ten days later in 2005.

Quality to date appears satisfactory although there are fears for the crop still in the fields due to the recent and ongoing wet weather.

The next vessel to leave Immingham commissioned by Gleadell will be the Arklow Wave, also destined for Spain with 13,500 tonnes of feed wheat, due this Friday.
