
A 2-row winter barley with a high yield potential (3% above Pearl)
and promising malting potential.
Cassata has moderately short straw with good lodging resistance
in treated and untreated trials.
Cassata has good disease resistance particularly to Rhynchosporium
and brown rust and the commonly occuring strains of Barley Mosaic
Virus (BYMV)
Cassata is currently in its first year of Recommended List trials
and will be considered for addition to the HGCA RL in the autumn
of 2006.
